Andrea has been supporting women, children and families in different capacities for over thirty years. Andrea's work with this population began with clinical massage therapy and transitioned into providing therapy for women, adolescents and families in various life stages. Andrea received her Master's Degree in Social work where she specialized in trauma informed care and received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (SAFE EMDR).
Andrea has vast experience working therapeutically with individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences including adolescents, college students, athletes, new parents, trauma-informed therapy for women, girls and gender-non-conforming people, cancer survivors and senior citizens. Her approach is client-centered, strength-based, LGBTQ+ affirming, multicultural and humanistic. Studying mindfulness, family dynamics, whole-brain parenting, self-compassion, shame-resilience and models of self-care and life-balance, Andrea draws from theories of Somatic and Attachment focused EMDR, Motivational Interviewing (MI,) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT,) Internal Family Systems (IFS,) Non-violent Communication, Therapeutic Breathwork, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT,) and Positive Psychology.
